The 97th PVI is based out of Chester County, where the original unit was formed. We are a part of the 1st Regiment of the Federal Volunteer Brigade.

We participate in reenactments across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. We also participate in school and community programs and parades.

The 97th PVI consists of whole families, parts of families and individuals who portray a mix of military and civilian Civil War reenactment roles. While our common interest is 19th century history and preserving the memory of the participants of the Civil War, we do it with a sense of fun and camaraderie.

Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions: students, clerks, business persons, teachers, healthcare workers, government workers, housewives, mechanics, journalists and retired persons.
